Ra Sjeon Hines graduated in 2014 with a degree in communications and a minor in psychology. He is currently an Email Marketing Manager at Pacific Gas and Electric Company, a Fortune 500 company and a leading utility in the world. He played football at SOU and was an Associated Students of SOU Student Senator and was very involved with the Black Student Union. One of his proudest achievements, aside from recreating the culture and trajectory of our football team (which led to a national championship in 2014), was his involvement with getting the Student Recreation Center (SRC) approved and built at SOU (opened April 2018).
“My experience at SOU was great and I came to campus during a time of huge transitions. When I came to SOU, Greensprings and Madrone were the premier housing facilities, the cafeteria was in Cascade Hall and the weight room/fitness center was under the stadium bleachers. When I left SOU and shortly following, the new Shasta and McLoughlin Halls opened as well as The Hawk dining facility and the SRC. I was in a unique position to see the SOU of days past, reminiscent of Southern Oregon State College and got to see the future of Southern Oregon University. I look forward to building on that experience and continuing to usher SOU into the future!”
